The story of 147 Black men in Pickaway County, Ohio. They met, after being denied their newly acquired right to vote, at the Second Baptist Church in Circleville, Ohio. The county Republican leaders met with them and the meeting produced two petitions asking the United States Congress to pass laws to penalize anyone denying the right to vote.
